Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced mixed trading activity, with various companies seeing fluctuations in their stock prices. The session was marked by significant gains in technology and chemical sectors, while some other sectors saw declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics led the gains with an increase of 9,600, closing at 138,100. POSCO Holdings also saw a notable rise, closing up 5,000 at 302,500. The energy sector represented by S-Oil and Doosan Enerbility also performed well, gaining 4,300 and 8,000, respectively.
In contrast, companies such as HYOSUNG TNC and LotteChilsung faced declines, with HYOSUNG TNC dropping by 1,500 to close at 212,500, and LotteChilsung falling 2,500 to close at 131,500. Hyundai WIA experienced a decrease of 4,500, closing at 74,800.
Other notable movements included LG Innotek, which rose by 5,500 to 273,000, and SK Innovation, which increased by 2,800 to close at 102,700. Meanwhile, DoubleUGames and Hanjin KAL saw declines of 1,100 and 3,800, respectively. The financial sector also showed mixed results, with BNK Financial Group dropping by 100 to 15,630, while KT and G rose by 1,400 to 141,800.
