Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of mixed results, with several companies registering significant gains while others saw declines. Closing figures highlighted notable performances in both directions. GS closed at 64,000, down by 1,200, while LIG Nex1 ended at 759,000, marking a decrease of 37,000. HD-Hyundai Marine Engine also saw a decline, closing at 77,500, down by 900. However, Misto Holdings and Hanwha Engine bucked the trend, closing at 48,500 and 48,250, up by 300 and 200, respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, several companies recorded gains, contributing to the positive momentum in the index. POSCO DX rose to 32,900, up by 1,200, and COWAY increased slightly to 72,300, up by 100. LOTTE SHOPPING saw a substantial rise, closing at 93,900, an increase of 1,900. Other notable gainers include IBK at 23,100, up by 300, and DONGSUH at 25,500, up by 350. KEPCO E and C recorded a significant gain, closing at 160,000, up by 12,300.

Further gains were seen with ShinhanGroup closing at 89,200, up by 700, and SANIL ELECTRIC rising to 146,000, an increase of 7,600. HANMISemi's stock increased to 324,000, up by 19,000, and LGELECTRONICS closed at 115,900, up by 2,500. Additionally, HYUNDAI ROTEM saw a downturn, ending at 207,500, down by 7,500, while LG CNS gained, closing at 63,500, up by 1,900.

Other performances included WooriFinancialGroup closing at 32,100, up by 550, and L and F at 113,100, up by 100. Celltrion's stock increased to 206,000, up by 2,000, and TKG Huchems gained, closing at 17,900, up by 550. JB Financial Group saw a rise, closing at 30,600, up by 1,850, and DAEWOONG PHARM increased to 164,400, up by 2,300.

HYUNDAIDEPTST closed at 87,200, up by 2,500, with KIH also seeing gains, closing at 220,000, up by 2,000. HANWHA LIFE showed an upward trend, closing at 4,690, up by 75. AMOREPACIFIC also rose to 129,200, up by 1,100, while FOOSUNG closed at 7,190, up by 370. SK Innovation saw a rise, closing at 119,800, up by 1,600, and DN AUTOMOTIVE increased to 27,750, up by 1,450.

HanmiPharm posted a significant increase, closing at 511,000, up by 29,500, and SD Biosensor closed at 7,710, up by 390. Meritz Financial rose to 113,000, up by 1,500, while BNK Financial Group increased to 18,330, up by 500. Conversely, emart experienced a decline, closing at 91,500, down by 900. COSMAX ended the day at 172,000, up by 8,000, with CHONGKUNDANG increasing to 84,200, up by 1,200. iM Financial Group gained, closing at 17,110, up by 560, and KOLMAR KOREA rose to 70,000, up by 3,700. HANKOOK TIRE and TECHNOLOGY closed at 59,100, up by 2,100.
