Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed varied movements as several major stocks experienced both gains and losses at the close of trading. NAVER and Kakao were among the notable technology stocks that closed higher, with NAVER increasing by 400 to reach 190,000 and Kakao climbing 1,000 to 35,900.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the financial sector saw mixed results. Woori Financial Group rose by 200 to 31,500, while Shinhan Group increased by 600 to 107,900. Meanwhile, JB Financial Group dropped by 500 to 27,400, and KB Financial Group fell by 500 to 181,100.
In the industrial sector, Hyundai WIA and LS ELECTRIC experienced declines, with Hyundai WIA dropping by 1,100 to 57,600 and LS ELECTRIC decreasing by 11,500 to 190,000. Conversely, LG HandH saw a significant rise of 8,500 to 246,500.
The pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors also displayed upward trends, with DAEWOONG PHARM increasing by 3,000 to 121,900 and HanmiPharm rising by 1,500 to 386,000.
Other notable movements included Hanwha Ocean, which rose by 4,700 to 86,700. Meanwhile, LGCHEM and NC saw declines, with LGCHEM down by 4,000 to 260,500 and NC dropping by 3,500 to 223,000.
