Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a day of mixed performances, with HyundaiEngandConst and Hanmi Science showing contrasting trends among the listed companies. HyundaiEngandConst closed at 100,700, experiencing a decline of 8,800, while Hanmi Science saw an increase, closing at 33,650, up by 2,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies faced declines in their closing prices. Notably, SeAH Steel Holdings fell by 6,600 to close at 105,100, while TaekwangInd experienced a significant drop, closing at 831,000 after a decrease of 33,000. SamyangFood also saw a decrease of 76,000, closing at 1,146,000.
Meanwhile, LG Corp. and KIA CORP. were among the few companies that recorded gains. LG Corp. saw a slight increase of 200, closing at 102,500, while KIA CORP. rose by 3,100 to close at 156,800. S-Oil also recorded an upward movement, closing at 131,600 after gaining 4,200.
Other companies like Hyundai Rotem and HyundaiMtr experienced declines, with Hyundai Rotem down by 17,300 to close at 169,100 and HyundaiMtr dropping 17,000 to close at 462,500. Additionally, Samsung SDS faced a decline of 10,700, closing at 194,300.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a varied performance, with some companies managing to secure gains while others faced notable declines. The trading session highlighted the dynamic nature of the market, as companies across different sectors experienced varying levels of performance.
