KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Strong Gains in Several Stocks

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showed a mixed performance as several major companies experienced significant gains in their stock prices. Notable increases were seen across various sectors, contributing to an overall positive market sentiment.

According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Uplus rose by 150 points to close at 15,090, while Samsung Card saw a substantial rise of 1,800 points, ending at 57,300. KT also experienced an increase, climbing 1,300 points to 52,600. Samsung Electronics and Appliances reported a gain of 650 points, closing at 25,400, and Samsung C and T rose by 3,000 points to 255,000. Meanwhile, Samsung Epis Holding saw a significant increase of 92,000 points, reaching 661,000.

In contrast, Asia Holdings experienced a decline of 15,500 points to 358,500, and Samyang Food fell by 3,000 points to 1,273,000. However, LGChem and LG H and H both saw positive movements, with LGChem rising by 6,000 points to 371,500 and LG H and H increasing by 4,000 points to 263,000. HD Hyundai Infracore also reported a gain of 510 points, closing at 16,940.

Other notable performances included POSCO International, which rose by 300 points to 53,900, and CJ CheilJedang, which increased by 3,500 points to 209,000. KEPCO KPS and Hanwha Ocean recorded gains of 800 and 1,000 points, respectively. Additionally, KEPCO E and C saw an increase of 2,600 points to 103,900, while KIWOOM surged by 9,000 points to 286,500.

Companies such as SeAH Steel Holdings and LIG Nex1 experienced significant gains, with SeAH Steel Holdings rising by 7,400 points to 146,200 and LIG Nex1 increasing by 10,500 points to 383,000. Meanwhile, Misto Holdings remained unchanged at 42,950, and Amorepacific also saw no change, maintaining its position at 121,800.

Despite some declines, including MiwonComcl and Daewoong, which fell by 1,900 and 700 points respectively, the overall market performance showed resilience. SK Innovation and KB Financial Group added to the positive outcomes with increases of 1,600 and 1,300 points, respectively.
