Seoul: The KOSPI 200 witnessed a mixed trading session with notable fluctuations in the stock prices of various leading companies. Several stocks experienced significant gains, while others saw declines, reflecting a dynamic market environment.
According to Yonhap News Agency, among the top performers was Samsung Electronics, which rose by 800 points to reach a closing price of 138,900. Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. also saw an increase of 2,000, closing at 277,000. GS E and C and SLCORP both experienced gains, with their prices rising by 160 and 400 respectively. Another notable gainer was HDKSOE, which increased by 13,000 to close at 414,000.
However, the trading session also saw declines in several stocks. Korea Zinc dropped significantly by 115,000, closing at 1,192,000. LS Electric and Samyang Food also faced declines, with LS Electric decreasing by 16,000 to 492,000 and Samyang Food dropping by 12,000 to 1,262,000. Other companies like MiwonComcl and SeAH Steel Holdings experienced decreases of 2,300 and 1,100 respectively.
In addition to these, Hyundai Motor had a notable increase, closing up 3,500 at 308,000, while Mirae Asset Securities surged by 3,200 to 28,700. Meanwhile, DB Insurance and LG Innotek saw declines, with DB Insurance down by 1,600 to 127,200 and LG Innotek decreasing by 4,000 to 269,000. The session presented a varied picture of the financial landscape, highlighting both growth opportunities and challenges within the market.
