Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showcased a day of mixed performances, with several companies marking significant gains. Leading the charge was CJ, which saw an impressive increase of 11,300, closing at 187,800. This was followed closely by Doosan, which rose by 44,000 to end at 896,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the retail sector also experienced a strong performance, with Shinsegae and LIG Nex1 both recording substantial gains. Shinsegae increased by 10,000, closing at 248,500, while LIG Nex1 saw a similar rise of 10,000, ending at 374,500. The construction and energy sectors made their mark as well, with HDHMS and CJ Logistics noting increases of 6,100 and 7,100, respectively.
Among other notable performers, HyundaiEng and Const rose by 4,600 to reach 70,500, and KDHC increased by 4,300, closing at 110,400. LS ELECTRIC and HANJINKAL also saw significant gains, rising by 6,000 and 5,500, respectively.
On the downside, some companies faced declines, with SK hynix dropping by 6,000 to close at 552,000. Nongshim and CHONGKUNDANG also experienced decreases, with Nongshim down by 500 to 434,500 and CHONGKUNDANG falling by 400 to 87,200. Despite these declines, the overall sentiment on the KOSPI 200 remained positive, driven by the notable gains in various sectors.
