KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance as Tech Stocks Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance in its latest trading session, with notable gains in technology stocks alongside declines in several other sectors. Samsung Electronics led the charge in the tech sector, closing at 100,600, marking an increase of 3,400. Other significant gainers included Youngone Corp, which rose by 7,800 to close at 77,000, and LS Electric, which saw a rise of 17,000 to end at 470,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, several companies experienced declines. KAL closed down by 300 at 21,600, while KG Mobility saw a decrease of 40, ending at 3,360. HYUNDAI STEEL also faced a drop, closing down 200 at 31,950. POSCO FUTURE M and COSMOCHEM also posted declines, down by 500 and 480, respectively.

On the positive side, LG Corp recorded an increase of 700, closing at 83,600. LOTTE Fine Chem and LOTTE also experienced gains, closing up by 1,300 and 150, respectively. Meanwhile, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. climbed by 2,000 to reach 317,000, and OTOKI saw an increase of 4,000, closing at 390,000.

In contrast, DB INSURANCE recorded a significant decline, dropping by 6,300 to close at 126,100. Other notable declines included KPIC, down by 3,300 to 149,000, and OCI Holdings, which decreased by 5,300, closing at 112,200. KOREA ZINC and HankukCarbon also faced drops, closing down by 32,000 and 2,700, respectively.

The trading session highlighted the varied performance across sectors, with technology stocks buoying the index despite declines in other areas.
