Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with a mixed performance today, featuring notable declines in major companies such as Samsung Biologics and Emart. Samsung Biologics experienced a significant drop, closing at 991,000, down by 49,000 points. Emart also saw a decrease, closing at 86,600, a decline of 6,900 points.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies recorded declines, including Hanwha Systems, which fell by 3,900 points to close at 42,950, and Orion, down by 3,500 points to end at 123,400. SD Biosensor and Meritz Financial also saw decreases, closing at 9,320 and 117,000, respectively.
Despite the declines, some companies posted gains. HD Hyundai Electric led the way with an increase of 6,500 points, closing at 341,000. HanjinKal and DL E and C also saw significant rises, with increases of 4,700 and 2,550 points, closing at 89,200 and 45,600, respectively.
In the financial sector, BNK Financial Group and iM Financial Group both recorded gains, closing at 10,530 and 10,500, respectively. Meanwhile, KakaoBank and Woori Financial Group posted modest increases, ending the day at 23,050 and 17,850.
Other notable performers included Krafton, HYOSUNG TNC, and SKSQUARE, each recording gains. Krafton rose by 1,500 points to close at 376,500, HYOSUNG TNC by 2,500 points to 239,500, and SKSQUARE by 1,500 points to end at 95,200.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 showcased a day of varied performances, with a blend of significant declines and notable gains across different sectors.
