Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance with several key stocks experiencing fluctuations in their closing prices. Companies such as Kia Corp., NCsoft, and COSMAX faced declines, while others like Kakao, Hanwha Ocean, and Hyundai Rotem saw their prices climb.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia Corp. closed at 97,200, reflecting a decrease of 1,200. NCsoft also saw a minor dip, closing at 176,500, down by 100. In contrast, Kakao's performance improved, closing at 51,500, up by 1,000. The index also noted Hanwha Ocean's increase to 84,700, marking a rise of 700, and Hyundai Rotem's substantial uptick to 186,800, up by 7,100.
Other notable movements included Hanatour Service dropping to 52,300, down by 600, and HD Hyundai Infracore declining to 10,150, down by 540. LG H and H experienced a significant drop, closing at 334,500, down by 8,000, while LGCHEM ended at 208,500, down by 2,000.
Meanwhile, ShinhanGroup and KEPCO KPS showed positive gains, closing at 59,000 and 50,500, up by 400 and 200, respectively. FOOSUNG also saw an improvement, closing at 5,270, up by 230. On the downside, SK Innovation and Hyundai Glovis faced declines, closing at 92,600 and 117,600, down by 2,900 and 3,400, respectively.
The financial sector saw mixed results as well, with Hana Financial Group improving to 78,500, up by 1,300, while Meritz Financial and JB Financial Group faced declines, closing at 110,100 and 20,000, down by 2,100 and 900, respectively.
