Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index recorded varied performances as several major stocks experienced notable losses, while a few others witnessed gains. Key players such as Samsung Life and KT and G reported significant declines in their closing prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Life observed a substantial decrease in its stock price, closing at 348,000, down by 16,500. Similarly, KT and G faced a drop of 5,900, ending the trading day at 182,100. Among other significant decliners, ShinhanGroup's shares fell by 2,200 to 96,000, and Lotte Wellfood saw a decrease of 4,900, closing at 116,700.
In contrast, a few stocks saw upward trends. SK's stock price rose by 14,000, reaching 656,000, while Hanon Systems experienced an increase of 190, closing at 5,240. Hyundai Rotem also saw gains, with its stock price increasing by 8,000 to 214,000.
Despite some stocks experiencing gains, the overall sentiment was weighed down by declines in several major companies. Samsung C and T, for instance, saw its shares drop by 9,500, closing at 411,000. Other companies such as Posco DX and DongSuh also witnessed declines, closing at 32,450 and 25,000 respectively.
The mixed performance of the KOSPI 200 index reflects a varied trading session, with substantial losses in significant stocks overshadowing the gains made by others.
