Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected a series of mixed performances across various companies, with notable gains for Shinsegae and Samsung Electronics driving attention. Shinsegae experienced a significant increase, closing at 419,500, marking a rise of 20,500. Samsung Electronics also saw a substantial lift, closing at 268,000 with an increase of 12,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies experienced gains, including HYUNDAI STEEL, which rose by 100 to close at 28,800, and SKTelecom, which increased by 3,300 to reach 91,100. MiwonComcl recorded a jump of 8,200, ending at 129,500, while HYOSUNG HEAVY gained 125,000 to settle at 3,017,000. LG Energy Solution climbed 7,000, closing at 365,500, and ISUPETASYS increased by 6,700 to finish at 96,800.
Other notable increases included MIRAE ASSET SEC, which rose by 1,550 to 38,050, APR with an increase of 2,500 reaching 399,500, and SamsungElecMech climbing 168,000 to close at 1,503,000. Companies like MIWON SC and OCI Holdings also saw gains, rising by 12,000 and 22,000, respectively.
On the other hand, several companies faced declines. LOTTE Fine Chem dropped by 700 to close at 46,300, while Nongshim decreased by 500, settling at 389,500. NHIS and YoulchonChem also witnessed downturns, with NHIS falling by 200 to 28,350 and YoulchonChem dropping 240 to 14,630. LS experienced a significant decrease of 11,000, closing at 326,000.
LOTTE WELLFOOD saw a decline of 3,600, ending at 119,200, and KT dropped by 200 to 52,500. Hanssem and KPIC also faced reductions, with Hanssem down by 1,900 to 38,050 and KPIC declining by 700, closing at 88,500. Despite these declines, the overall market showcased a range of movements, indicating varied investor sentiments.
