Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mix of gains and losses, with significant movements observed in various sectors. LG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI both posted strong performances, with LG Energy Solution rising by 12,000 to close at 345,000, and Samsung SDI increasing by 7,000 to finish at 212,500. Meanwhile, the index also saw a notable decline for HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, which dropped by 11,000 to settle at 309,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies marked upward trends. KIH remained unchanged at 79,000, whereas Kumho Tire rose by 80 to reach 5,100. Hyundai Glovis witnessed an increase of 500, closing at 142,700, while Korea Aerospace climbed by 100 to end at 52,300. GS saw an increase of 450, closing at 38,450, and Hana Financial Group rose by 300 to finish at 61,800.
On the downside, NHIS experienced a decrease of 70, ending at 14,200, while LS saw a drop of 2,400, closing at 110,500. Other significant declines included Hyosung Heavy, which fell by 9,000 to settle at 503,000, and Samsung F and M Insurance, which decreased by 8,500 to close at 361,500.
Additionally, Kogas advanced by 1,450 to reach 36,000, and Hanwha Solutions gained 150, closing at 20,150. In contrast, OCI Holdings and LS Electric faced declines, with OCI Holdings dropping by 2,700 to 78,000 and LS Electric decreasing by 1,500 to settle at 220,500.
The overall market performance reflects a variety of sectoral impacts, with energy and technology stocks showing strength, while some industrial and financial sectors faced challenges.
