KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements with LotteChilsung and Samsung SDI Leading Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of mixed trading with notable movements among its constituents. While some companies marked significant gains, others saw declines. LotteChilsung and Samsung SDI were among the top performers during the trading session.

According to Yonhap News Agency, LotteChilsung's shares surged by 5,200 to close at 137,700, reflecting a strong upward trend. Similarly, Samsung SDI also saw a notable increase, rising by 3,500 to end the session at 182,500. These gains contributed to the positive movement seen in certain sectors.

On the other hand, several companies experienced declines. SeAH Steel Holdings dropped by 1,500, closing at 212,000, while LG Corp. saw a decrease of 1,400, finishing at 80,700. Other companies like DB Insurance and Shinsegae also faced downward trends, with DB Insurance falling by 3,800 to 137,700, and Shinsegae decreasing by 2,300 to 187,200.

The automotive sector showed mixed results, with Hyundai M and F INS declining by 550 to 27,850, while HyundaiMtr gained 500 to close at 210,500. Kia Corp. also saw a decrease, falling by 400 to 99,800.

In the steel and chemical sectors, POSCO Holdings increased by 3,500 to 311,000, and LOTTE Fine Chem rose by 2,600 to end at 43,000. Meanwhile, Hyundai Steel decreased by 350, closing the day at 34,800.

Other notable movements included TCC STEEL, which rose by 760 to 17,260, and OTOKI, which gained 4,000 to finish at 408,000. SamsungElec saw a modest rise of 400, closing at 67,100.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index showed a varied performance, reflecting the complex dynamics within the market on this trading day.
