Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced mixed movements as trading closed, with notable fluctuations in the stock prices of major companies. Key players such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electro-Mechanics saw declines, while others like Hyundai Engineering and Construction and Hanwha Engine showed gains.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SK Hynix's stock closed at 1,745,000, marking a decrease of 14,000. Samsung Electro-Mechanics also saw a significant drop, closing at 1,330,000, down by 51,000. On the other hand, Hyundai Engineering and Construction experienced an increase of 1,000, closing at 125,300. Hanwha Engine reported a notable rise, with its stock price climbing 4,950 to reach 53,000.
Other movements included Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance, which closed at 666,000, up by 5,000, and Hanall Biopharma, which increased by 400 to settle at 48,150. Meanwhile, HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering saw a substantial increase of 16,000, closing at 348,500, while S-Oil experienced a rise of 8,100, finishing at 152,200.
In contrast, LG Innotek and Lotte Chemical Corporation faced declines, with LG Innotek dropping 8,000 to close at 507,000, and Lotte Chemical Corporation falling 2,000 to 62,100. Additionally, stocks like Daesang and Orion Holdings also saw downward trends, with Daesang decreasing by 240 to 17,910, and Orion Holdings dropping 100 to 24,300.
