KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Meritz Financial and Samsung Biologics Lead Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed a variety of shifts in stock prices, with notable performances from Meritz Financial and Samsung Biologics. Meritz Financial saw a significant increase of 4,600, closing at 109,100, while Samsung Biologics climbed by 12,000 to reach 1,012,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the financial sector experienced gains with KB Financial Group rising by 1,500 to 89,300, BNK Financial Group increasing by 380 to 10,940, and DGB Financial Group up by 180 to 8,590. Other notable advancements included emart with an increase of 1,400 to 66,200, and Kolmar Korea which rose by 900 to 57,500.

In contrast, several companies faced declines. HanmiPharm experienced a substantial drop of 10,500, closing at 260,500. Kumho Petrochem and SK Square also saw significant decreases, with Kumho Petrochem down by 3,300 to 91,500, and SK Square dropping 3,600 to finish at 91,200. Additionally, Doosan fell by 5,500 to end the day at 284,000.

Other companies showed smaller fluctuations. Poongsan decreased by 1,200 to 52,300, CJ dropped by 1,200 to 100,000, and ISU Specialty Chemical was down by 1,600 to 36,400. Meanwhile, GKL saw a minor increase of 70 to 11,680, and DoubleU Games rose by 200 to 49,950.

The mixed movements in the stock prices of KOSPI 200 index companies reflect the dynamic nature of the market, as various sectors respond to economic conditions and company performances.
