KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Key Stocks Dip

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed varied movements with several key stocks experiencing declines on the latest market close. Among the notable decliners, Samsung Heavy Industries saw a decrease of 450, closing at 20,900, while S-Oil's price dropped by 5,600 to settle at 121,700. LG Innotek and Lotte Chemical Corp also recorded declines, closing at 513,000 and 55,200 respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the market displayed some upward trends in specific sectors. LS ELECTRIC experienced a significant rise, climbing 3,600 to reach 188,400. Hyundai WIA and S-1 also saw increases, closing at 59,500 and 71,900 respectively. Other stocks such as DWEC, COWAY, and HD-Hyundai Marine Engine posted gains, signaling mixed sentiments in the market.

In contrast, several other stocks faced downward pressure. Samsung Securities declined by 2,800 to 97,000, and Hyundai Department Store registered a decrease of 2,800, closing at 116,000. KIH experienced a notable drop, losing 9,600 to close at 196,900. Meanwhile, KDHC and GS fell significantly, closing at 63,500 and 84,600 respectively.

Additional stocks like Hanchem, Amorepacific, and Hanwha Engine also recorded declines, reflecting a challenging trading session for numerous companies. Despite these downturns, certain stocks such as Taekwang Industry and Doosan Enerbility offered a positive outlook with their respective increases of 11,000 and 600.

The KOSPI 200's mixed performance highlights the fluctuating nature of the market, with various sectors experiencing different levels of impact during the trading session.
