KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements As HYBE and Hyundai Engineering Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced mixed results in its latest trading session. While several companies recorded substantial gains, others faced declines. Leading the charge was HYBE, which saw its stock price rise significantly, closing at 353,000, up by 10,000. The construction sector also witnessed positive movements, with Hyundai Engineering and Construction surging to 156,800, marking an increase of 12,800.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other notable gainers included KEPCO E and C and LG H and H, which closed at 155,400 and 248,000, respectively, reflecting increases of 9,200 and 12,500. Hanwha Systems and ISU Specialty Chemical also demonstrated strong performances, each climbing by 8,100 to close at 158,900 and 105,100, respectively.

However, the session was not favorable for all. SK Square and HDHMS experienced downturns, with SK Square dropping by 13,000 to close at 553,000, while HDHMS fell by 4,100 to a closing price of 169,000. KIWOOM and KT and G also reported declines, with KIWOOM closing at 435,500, down by 5,500, and KT and G reducing by 1,900 to 154,700.

Despite fluctuations, the market saw several other companies achieving gains. KakaoPay and APR experienced uplift, closing at 61,600 and 306,000, respectively, with increases of 2,300 and 23,000. Meanwhile, companies like BGF Retail and SK Chem faced minor declines, ending the session at 115,000 and 59,200, both slightly down from their previous closings.
