Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with a mix of gains and losses, featuring notable increases in several key companies. SK Innovation led the surge with its stock price climbing to 149,800, marking an increase of 16,800. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp also showed a significant rise, closing at 118,000 after an upward movement of 23,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies contributing to the upward trend included OTOKI, which saw its price rise by 1,500 to settle at 365,500, and DN AUTOMOTIVE, which increased by 1,800 to close at 42,800. SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. also experienced a noteworthy gain, with its stock rising by 32,000 to close at 712,000.
Despite the upward momentum for some, several companies saw declines. ISUPETASYS dropped by 4,600 to close at 146,000, while NHIS decreased by 450, ending at 34,600. Notably, DB INSURANCE experienced a decline of 1,300, closing at 172,200, and SAMSUNG EPIS HOLDINGS fell by 9,000 to 559,000.
Additionally, GS Retail and SLCORP saw modest gains, with GS Retail increasing by 300 to end at 23,550 and SLCORP rising by 500 to close at 66,500. Meanwhile, HYOSUNG HEAVY recorded a significant increase, closing at 3,982,000 after a rise of 6,000.
