Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with significant declines in several major stocks, although a few companies managed to post gains. Notable changes were observed in the closing prices, reflecting a challenging day for the South Korean stock market.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kogas saw a decrease of 700, closing at 31,700, while Hanmi Science dropped by 200 to settle at 32,500. HtlShilla experienced a significant drop of 2,850, ending the day at 44,950. Korea Zinc reported a substantial decline of 73,000, closing at 956,000. Hanwha Solutions fell by 850, finishing at 26,750, and HDKSOE decreased by 14,000, closing at 340,000.
Meanwhile, S-Oil showed some resilience, gaining 1,800 to close at 146,700. LG Innotek dropped by 66,000, settling at 602,000, and Lotte Chemical Corporation decreased by 3,400, ending at 57,600. HMM was among the few gainers, with a minor increase of 100 to close at 20,150. Hyundai Wia reported a decline of 2,700, closing at 54,900.
Kumho Petrochemical experienced a decrease of 6,400, ending at 117,100, while Mobis dropped by 9,500 to settle at 472,500. Hanwha Aerospace saw a significant decline of 68,000, closing at 875,000. Samsung Epis Holding decreased by 23,500, settling at 372,500, and S-1 fell by 1,100 to close at 71,000.
Hanchem reported a decrease of 500, closing at 244,000, and DWS fell by 870, ending at 18,810. Hyundai Elevator experienced a decline of 2,500, closing at 66,400, while Hanon Systems decreased by 105, settling at 3,385. SK saw a minor decline of 1,000, closing at 579,000.
Coway reported a decrease of 4,300, ending at 92,400, and IBK fell by 400 to close at 21,200. KEPCO experienced a decline of 1,050, closing at 33,000, while SK Telecom saw a decrease of 5,000, settling at 84,700. POSCO DX reported a decline of 1,120, ending at 17,510.
Hankuk Carbon fell by 1,500, closing at 21,950, and Samsung Securities decreased by 6,000, ending at 101,700. Dongsuh saw a decline of 550, closing at 24,950, while Lotte Shopping experienced a significant drop of 14,300, ending at 126,500. HANMISemi decreased by 20,500, closing at 222,000.
Samsung E and A reported a decline of 1,650, ending at 39,200, and Samsung C and T fell by 28,500, closing at 317,500. DWEC saw a decrease of 610, settling at 14,540. Samsung Life experienced a substantial decline of 29,500, closing at 301,500, while LG Uplus fell by 120, ending at 14,500.
PanOcean reported a decrease of 120, closing at 5,040, and Doosan Enerbility experienced a decline of 4,900, ending at 64,800. Kangwonland fell by 150, closing at 14,260, while Paradise decreased by 400, ending at 9,790.
