Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced significant movements, with various companies showcasing notable increases in their stock prices. Among the companies, SK Telecom saw an increase of 900, closing at 53,700, while Samsung SDS experienced a rise of 700 to finish at 137,800. This reflects a positive trend in the telecommunications and technology sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other gains were observed in companies like SK, which rose by 7,000 to close at 194,700, and CJ, which increased by 7,100, ending the day at 156,800. POSCO DX and Samsung Card also reported rises of 150 and 2,800, closing at 22,550 and 50,800, respectively.
In contrast, some companies faced declines. Hyundai Elevator saw a decrease of 1,200, closing at 78,600, and Korea Aerospace fell by 1,900 to end at 87,900. Additionally, Lotte Wellfood and KT and G experienced reductions of 900 and 400, closing at 121,600 each.
The day's trading also highlighted modest gains for companies like Kumho Tire and Hanon Systems, which increased by 35 and 45, closing at 4,470 and 3,140, respectively. Samsung Life and Samsung C and T reported significant rises, with Samsung Life up by 6,300 and Samsung C and T by 6,900, closing at 122,500 and 173,200, respectively.
