KOSPI 200 Sees Broad Gains as Key Stocks Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a notable upswing with most stocks recording gains, reflecting a positive sentiment in the market. Among the companies, Samsung Biologics surged by 24,000 to close at 1,547,000, while HD Hyundai saw an increase of 14,500, ending the day at 255,000. Additionally, Krafton experienced a notable rise, adding 8,500 to its value, closing at 236,500.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other significant gainers included Samsung C and T and HD Hyundai Electric, which increased by 7,000 and 12,000, closing at 281,500 and 925,000, respectively. Kolon Industries also saw a substantial rise, with its price climbing by 6,900 to reach 73,400. Hanmi Pharm's shares went up by 10,000, finishing at 511,000.

Meanwhile, Kolmar Korea, Orion, and Lotte Wellfood experienced gains of 1,500, 3,800, and 3,600, closing at 78,200, 133,400, and 112,300, respectively. In the financial sector, KB Financial Group and Meritz Financial rose by 1,600 and 800, closing at 146,900 and 106,100.

On the downside, emart and Cosmax faced declines, with emart dropping by 100 to 95,300 and Cosmax decreasing by 4,500 to 193,500. Overall, the trend for the day showed a positive trajectory for most companies listed under the KOSPI 200.
