Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with significant upward movements in several key stocks, reflecting a positive trading session. Notably, companies such as Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and LS experienced substantial price increases, contributing to the overall rise of the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw a prominent increase of 30,000, closing at 419,500. Similarly, LS reported an increase of 27,500, closing at 300,500. These substantial gains were among the highest in the index, showcasing strong investor confidence in these companies.
Another notable performer was HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, which rose by 12,500 to close at 48,300. The tech sector also saw positive movements, with SK hynix rising by 10,000 to 1,577,000 and Samsung SDS increasing by 16,500, closing at 219,500.
The automotive sector showed mixed results, with Kia Corp. remaining unchanged at 129,600, while HyundaiEngandConst rose by 5,900 to close at 101,500. Meanwhile, Korea Aerospace experienced a significant rise of 13,800, closing at 137,500.
Among other notable gains, POSCO Holdings increased by 9,500 to 313,000, and Shinsegae rose by 20,000, closing at 425,500. However, DB Insurance experienced a decline of 1,800, closing at 154,800, marking one of the few drops in the index.
