Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a noticeable downturn as several leading companies reported declines in their closing prices. Noteworthy among them were Samsung Biologics, which fell by 38,000 to close at 1,325,000, and LG Electronics, which saw a decrease of 17,800, closing at 178,000. Other significant declines included APR, which dropped by 20,000 to 365,500, and HDHMS, which fell by 8,300 to 189,300.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the downturn was offset by gains from certain companies. FOOSUNG rose by 1,100 to 11,840, while Hanchem saw an increase of 5,000, closing at 243,000. SKSQUARE had a notable rise of 57,000, closing at 1,327,000. Other companies, such as Misto Holdings and SKCHEM, also reported increases, with Misto Holdings rising by 4,550 to 52,400 and SKCHEM increasing by 200 to 40,800.
In the financial sector, iM Financial Group and BNK Financial Group both experienced declines, with iM Financial Group falling by 780 to 17,310, and BNK Financial Group decreasing by 710 to close at 17,220. Meanwhile, the retail sector saw emart decrease by 1,500, closing at 79,600, and BGF Retail dropping by 5,200 to 120,200.
The energy sector showed mixed results, with S-Oil increasing by 1,900 to 133,500, while SK Innovation decreased by 800, closing at 99,000. Among other sectors, HD Hyundai Electric increased by 1,000 to 815,000, whereas HD Hyundai and HD CE saw declines of 4,300 and 4,100, closing at 189,400 and 121,200, respectively.
