Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw varied movements on Thursday as key stocks on the Korea Stock Exchange closed with a mix of gains and losses, reflecting a dynamic trading session.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SD Biosensor experienced a decline, closing at 10,230 KRW, down by 90 KRW. Meritz Financial also saw a decrease, ending at 122,100 KRW, down by 800 KRW. Meanwhile, BNK Financial Group and iM Financial Group recorded gains, closing at 15,180 KRW and 14,310 KRW, up by 60 KRW and 20 KRW, respectively.
Retail giant emart saw an increase of 1,700 KRW, closing at 80,200 KRW. DENTIUM and HANKOOK TIRE and TECHNOLOGY also showed upward trends, ending at 58,600 KRW and 38,900 KRW, up by 100 KRW and 550 KRW. KOLMAR KOREA experienced a significant rise, closing at 80,300 KRW, up by 1,400 KRW.
On the other hand, JB Financial Group and TKG Huchems faced declines, closing down by 50 KRW and 150 KRW. HANJINKAL and CHONGKUNDANG saw notable decreases, ending at 113,800 KRW and 84,000 KRW, down by 2,700 KRW and 1,400 KRW. DoubleUGames and Daesang also recorded losses, with decreases of 100 KRW and 100 KRW.
Other notable performers included COSMAX and SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS, both closing with gains of 9,000 KRW, at 231,500 KRW and 1,029,000 KRW, respectively. KCC and TaekwangInd also showed increases, closing at 428,500 KRW and 906,000 KRW, up by 5,500 KRW and 6,000 KRW. SamyangFood recorded a gain, closing at 1,585,000 KRW, up by 7,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, several stocks saw declines, including Daewoong and POSCO INTERNATIONAL, closing down by 1,150 KRW and 450 KRW. KAL and SeAH Steel Holdings also ended lower, down by 150 KRW and 2,400 KRW. In contrast, LG Corp. showed an increase, closing at 77,000 KRW, up by 1,800 KRW.
Among other stocks, KRAFTON and HD HYUNDAI remained unchanged, maintaining their positions at 319,500 KRW and 161,800 KRW. The mixed performance of the KOSPI 200 reflects the dynamic nature of the stock market.
