Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a widespread decrease in the closing prices of many major companies, with only a few managing to record gains. As the trading session concluded, KEPCO saw its price drop by 2,100 to 36,000, and Hyundai Elevator fell by 2,600 to 74,900. SK Telecom was among the few gainers, with a rise of 300, bringing its closing price to 106,700.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies faced substantial declines. Hankuk Carbon's price decreased by 2,650, closing at 29,600, while HD Hyundai Electric experienced a significant drop of 67,000, landing at 889,000. Cheil Worldwide saw a slight decline, ending at 18,280, down by 10. Lotte Wellfood and SBHC also faced declines, with their prices dropping by 5,500 and 4,450, closing at 103,100 and 44,500, respectively.
Pan Ocean's price decreased by 240, closing at 4,880. Samsung Card dropped by 800, ending at 45,200, and KT saw a minor decline of 100, closing at 53,900. Hanwha Systems and LG H and H faced notable declines, with their prices dropping by 8,100 and 10,000, closing at 86,500 and 238,000, respectively. KEPCO KPS's price decreased by 2,750, ending at 45,900, while LG Chem and Celltrion saw declines of 28,000 and 12,000, closing at 321,000 and 159,400.
Hanon Systems and SK experienced decreases, with prices dropping by 405 and 53,000, closing at 4,290 and 572,000. Coway's price fell by 6,800, ending at 87,400, and IBK saw a decrease of 400, closing at 20,250. Paradise and Hanwha Ocean faced declines of 700 and 9,100, closing at 14,800 and 103,100. NC's price dropped by 14,500, ending at 267,000, while Kakao experienced a decline of 1,650, closing at 38,600.
Doosan Enerbility, KT and G, and POSCO International faced declines of 9,800, 2,100, and 3,700, closing at 85,800, 177,200, and 54,800, respectively. CJ CheilJedang and Samyang Food experienced decreases of 4,000 and 51,000, closing at 196,000 and 1,069,000. CS Wind and Kolon Ind saw declines of 2,950 and 5,200, closing at 40,900 and 60,700. SK Innovation and Hanmi Pharm experienced significant declines of 10,300 and 81,000, closing at 104,600 and 413,000. Chongkundang's price fell by 2,700, ending at 71,700, while Youngone Corp saw a decrease of 5,700, closing at 74,100.
Despite the overall declines, DongSuh and LG Uplus managed to record gains. DongSuh's price increased by 150, closing at 23,800, while LG Uplus saw a rise of 400, ending at 15,720.
