KOSPI 200 Closes with Notable Declines, Few Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a day of mixed results with a predominance of downward trends in stock prices. Several prominent companies experienced declines, while a few managed to record gains. Notably, F and F emerged with an increase, closing at 73,700, up by 2,000. Similarly, SamsungElecMech and YoungoneHoldings saw their prices rise to 1,757,000 and 186,000, respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, HDKSOE faced a slight decrease, closing at 379,000, down by 500. Larger declines were observed in OCI Holdings and LS ELECTRIC, which fell by 13,000 and 12,500, closing at 298,500 and 227,000, respectively. Korea Zinc also reported a significant drop, closing at 1,265,000, down by 51,000.

Additional companies such as SamsungHvyInd and S-Oil experienced reductions in their stock values, with SamsungHvyInd closing at 27,750, down by 650, and S-Oil at 112,800, down by 1,700. Meanwhile, MIWON SC and LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp saw their prices fall to 96,200 and 77,500, respectively.

Among the automotive and aerospace sectors, HyundaiAutoever and Korea Aerospace recorded declines, with Korea Aerospace closing at 139,000, down by 2,500. Hanwha Aerospace also faced a drop, finishing at 1,049,000, down by 19,000. In the technology sector, Samsung SDS and LG Innotek reported declines, with Samsung SDS closing at 252,500, down by 15,500, and LG Innotek at 1,160,000, decreasing by 13,000.

Despite the overall downward trend, Coway and IBK recorded positive changes, closing at 94,200 and 20,650, respectively. Meanwhile, Lotte Shopping saw a modest increase, closing at 173,000, up by 1,000. However, other companies like KumhoPetrochem, HMM, and Hyundai WIA faced declines, reflecting the mixed market sentiments.
