KORIBOR Rates Show Slight Increase in Longer Terms

Seoul: The Korea Interbank Offered Rates (KORIBOR), a key benchmark for interest rates in South Korea, demonstrated marginal shifts in longer-term rates as reported by Yonhap Infomax, the financial news and information arm of Yonhap News Agency, at 11:00 a.m.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the KORIBOR for the 1-month term increased from 3.07% in the previous session to 3.08% today. Similarly, the 2-month term saw a slight rise from 3.14% to 3.15%. The 6-month term also experienced an increase from 3.50% to 3.51%, while the 12-month term edged up from 3.79% to 3.80%. The rates for the 1-week and 3-month terms remained unchanged at 3.00% and 3.23%, respectively.

KORIBOR rates are significant as they serve as a benchmark for various financial products and loans. The subtle changes in the longer-term rates might reflect market expectations for future economic conditions. The consistency in the 1-week and 3-month rates suggests stability in shorter-term market perceptions.
