Seoul: Korea Zinc on Wednesday reported a first-quarter net profit of 354 billion won (US$243.9 million), marking an increase of 117.9 percent from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the January-March period surged 175.2 percent year-on-year to 746.1 billion won. Additionally, sales experienced a growth of 58.4 percent, reaching 6.07 trillion won.
The operating profit exceeded the average estimate by 16.4 percent, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate of net profit was not available at the time of reporting.
