Korea Offers Scholarship for an Undergraduate Degree (BruDirect (Brunei))
The Korean Embassy in Brunei Darussalam announced that the Government of the Republic of Korea is inviting a Bruneian to take part in the 2016 Global Korea Scholarship: Korean Government Scholarship Programme for International Students for an Undergraduate Degree (2016 Undergraduate GKS).
To be conducted in Korea for the academic year 2016-2021, the objective of the 2016 Undergraduate GKS is to provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at higher educational institutions in Korea in order to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship among the countries.
The scholarship covers airfare, Korean language training expenses, tuition, monthly stipend, settlement allowance, medical insurance and repatriation allowance from March 1, 2016 to February 28, 2021, the Korean Embassy said in a statement.
Applications should be submitted with all required documents to the embassy no later than Friday, October 2, 2015. An applicant and his/her parents must be a citizen of Brunei Darussalam.
Both the applicant and his/her parents must not be a holder of Korean citizenship. The applicant should be under 25 years of age as of March 1, 2016 (Should be born after March, 1, 1991).
The applicants must possess above 80 per cent (out of 100 per cent) cumulative grade point average (CGPA), or must be within 20 per cent (out of 100 per cent) in the rank during their entire high school period and must not at any time have ever received a Korean government scholarship for an undergraduate course.
