Kim Yo-jong Praises South Korean President for Regret Over Drone Incident

Seoul: Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, announced that her brother described South Korean President Lee Jae Myung as "frank and broad-minded" after Lee expressed regret regarding unauthorized drone flights into North Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee expressed his regret during a Cabinet meeting earlier in the day, acknowledging the incident's impact. He stated, "Although this was not an act by our government, I express regret to the North Korean side over the unnecessary military tension caused by such reckless behavior."

In a statement released through North Korea's state media and attributed to Kim Yo-jong, who holds the position of department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, the incident was labeled as "very fortunate and wise behavior" on the part of President Lee. The statement quoted Kim Jong-un as appreciating the gesture, describing it as indicative of a "frank and broad-minded man's attitude."

Despite the praise, Kim Yo-jong also issued a warning to Seoul, urging it to "stop any reckless provocation" and advising against attempts at contact, emphasizing the importance of genuine peace and security over mere lip service.
