Kim, Putin Hold Bilateral Talks in Beijing

Beijing: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks Wednesday on the sidelines of a military parade in Beijing. The discussions took place at the Diaoyutai state guest house following their attendance at a significant military parade at Tiananmen Square, which commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in 1945. According to Yonhap News Agency, during the meeting, Kim Jong-un expressed his appreciation to Vladimir Putin for his commendation of North Korean troops fighting for Russia. Kim also vowed to enhance the bilateral ties between North Korea and Russia. The talks underscore the growing cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, highlighted by North Korea's deployment of troops in support of Russia in its conflict with Ukraine.
