Kim Jong-un Reaches ‘Important Conclusion’ at North Korean Party Plenary Meeting

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has delivered an "important conclusion" during the ongoing plenary meeting of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, as reported by state media. This development occurred on the second day of the gathering, which aims to review this year's policy outcomes and prepare for a significant party congress next year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the ruling party initiated the 13th plenary meeting of its Eighth Central Committee on Tuesday. The meeting, presided over by Kim, is focused on evaluating the policy implementation results for the year and making preparations for the upcoming ninth congress. On Wednesday, Kim presented his important conclusion regarding the agenda items, specifically concerning the review of policy implementation this year and the preparations for the congress.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) did not provide specifics on the important conclusion reached by Kim. However, it highlighted Kim's assessment of this year's party and state policies and the significant successes achieved. Additionally, the meeting addressed several problems needing immediate resolution before the ninth congress, the assignment of critical tasks for its preparations, organizational matters, and discussions on the 2025 state budget and drafting of the 2026 budget.

The ninth congress, anticipated to occur in January or February, will be the first since the eighth congress in 2021. It is expected to make crucial decisions regarding North Korea's external policies towards the U.S. and South Korea and its national economy for the next five years. The year-end party plenary meeting is projected to continue for several days based on previous instances.
