Seoul: KG Mobility Corp. reported a 9.5 percent increase in sales for January, largely attributed to robust domestic demand, which helped mitigate a decline in export figures.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean automaker sold 8,836 vehicles in January, an increase from 8,070 units in the same period last year. This total includes complete knock-down (CKD) units. Domestic sales surged by 38.5 percent to 3,186 units, compared to 2,300 units a year ago. However, the company experienced a slight dip in exports, which decreased by 2.1 percent to 5,650 units from the previous 5,770.
In the previous year, KG Mobility's total vehicle sales rose by 1 percent year-on-year to 110,535 vehicles, thanks to increased shipments to Europe and South America. For the current year, the company aims to concentrate on promoting the all-new Musso pickup in the domestic market while also working to diversify its export markets further.
KG Mobility's product lineup primarily focuses on sport utility vehicles (SUVs), including the Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Actyon, and Torres models. Additionally, they offer the all-electric Torres EVX and the Musso Sports, Musso Sports Khan, and Musso EV pickups. Notably, the Musso EV holds the distinction of being the country's first pure electric pickup.
