KG Mobility Partners with Indonesia’s PT Pindad for National Car and Electric Bus Initiative

Bandung: KG Mobility Corp. announced a strategic partnership with Indonesia's state-run defense company PT Pindad to develop a national car and electric bus project in Indonesia. The agreement was formalized at PT Pindad's headquarters in Bandung, attended by KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jea-sun and PT Pindad CEO Sigit Santosa.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KG Mobility and PT Pindad signed a heads of agreement (HOA) to commence their collaboration. The South Korean automaker will provide vehicle product evaluation, technology, and engineering support to PT Pindad. The collaboration aims to increase PT Pindad's national car and electric bus production capacity to 200,000 units.

KG Mobility's past initiatives in Indonesia included exporting 1,060 knock-down kits for its Rexton SUV last year, with plans to boost shipments to 3,000 units this year. The partnership aligns with KG Mobility's strategy to penetrate emerging markets and leverage Indonesia's potential as Southeast Asia's largest automotive market.

Kwak Jea-sun emphasized the importance of Indonesia in KG Mobility's growth plans, stating, "We will make every effort to expand sales through our differentiated product competitiveness and marketing strategies."
