Seoul: KB Financial Group reported a significant increase in its second-quarter net income, reaching 2.01 trillion won (US$1.4 billion), which marks a 15 percent rise from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the April-June period was 2.71 trillion won, reflecting a 27.2 percent increase from the same period last year. Sales for the quarter rose by 31.2 percent, totaling 31.75 trillion won.
The earnings exceeded market expectations, with analysts' average net profit estimate standing at 1.92 trillion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
