KAI Secures Major Contract with Brazilian eVTOL Manufacturer

SEOUL – Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI) announced a significant new agreement with Eve Air Mobility, a Brazilian aircraft producer, to supply components for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the deal, worth over 1 trillion won (approximately US$722.9 million), involves the development and production of the Pylon, a crucial structure for mounting electric propulsion systems on eVTOLs. This collaboration marks a continuation of KAI’s involvement in aviation manufacturing, building on their past work with Embraer’s E-Jet E2, the parent company of Eve.

Eve's eVTOL model, designed to carry five passengers and capable of traveling up to 100 kilometers, is slated for use in commercial air taxi services in various countries, including the United States and Brazil, by 2026. KAI aims to leverage this project to refine its advanced air mobility technologies and expand its presence in the global aerospace market.

KAI’s CEO, Kang Goo-young, expressed confidence in the project's potential to boost KAI’s international standing in the burgeoning field of advanced air mobility.
