Seoul:According to Yonhap News Agency, Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) will collaborate with POSCO International Corp. and the Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) to boost aerospace cooperation in Mexico and tap into opportunities across Latin America.

This collaboration was formalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) during President Lee Jae Myung's recent state visit to Mexico. The agreement includes KAI's plans to develop business models focused on supply chain cooperation and exploring new business opportunities in the region. Additionally, POSCO International will assist in integrating selected Mexican companies into KAI's aerospace manufacturing supply chain.

FEMIA, which has over 100 member companies, is set to facilitate exchanges with Mexico's aerospace ecosystem. It will also help identify potential local partners and provide insights on government policies relevant to the industry.

KAI Chief Executive Officer Kim Jong-chul stated that the company aims to leverage this cooperation to accelerate the expansion of the FA-50 light combat aircraft into Central America and extend its market presence into North and South America.
