Seoul: K-pop powerhouses Hybe, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment, along with other artists from the industry, have joined a growing wave of aid efforts across Asia to support victims of a deadly apartment fire in Hong Kong, industry sources and company officials said Friday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hybe Music Group APAC, which oversees six affiliated labels, including BigHit Music, Belift Lab, and Source Music, contributed 500 million won (US$341,390) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. The funds will be utilized in cooperation with a nonprofit organization in Hong Kong to aid families affected by the fire. "We offer our deepest condolences to all those impacted by the tragedy," the company's CEO Yu Dong-ju expressed in a statement, hoping the donation would bring comfort and expedite recovery efforts.

Girl group i-dle also contributed 1 million yuan ($141,235) through China's Fosun Foundation. Chinese member Yuqi extended her wishes on social media, expressing hope for the safety and well-being of everyone.

YG Entertainment announced its donation of 1 million Hong Kong dollars ($128,483) in emergency relief funds via its official Weibo account. GOT7 member Jackson Wang, a native of Hong Kong, also contributed 1 million Hong Kong dollars through his clothing label Team Wang to the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Foundation. Wang shared information on local shelters and encouraged followers to ensure proper assistance for everyone in need, including animals.

Earlier, SM Entertainment donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars to the Hong Kong Red Cross, with its groups aespa and Riize contributing 500,000 and 250,000 Hong Kong dollars, respectively. Additionally, JYP Entertainment donated 2 million Hong Kong dollars to World Vision Hong Kong, stating on Weibo that the funds will be used to provide emergency shelters and support mental health treatment for affected children and residents.
