Industrial Output in South Korea Increases by 2.3% in June Driven by Automobile Sector

Seoul: South Korea's industrial output experienced a 2.3 percent increase in June from the previous month, with retail sales and facility investment also showing positive growth.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Ministry of Data and Statistics released data indicating that the mining and manufacturing sector, a significant component of the economy, saw a 6.4 percent rise in output, largely fueled by the automobile industry. Retail sales, which serve as an indicator of private spending, climbed by 2.7 percent during this period, primarily driven by durable goods like automobiles.

Additionally, facility investment showed a notable increase of 5.8 percent in June compared to the previous month, as highlighted in the data.
