El jadida: Hyundai Rotem Co., the defense and train subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, will participate in a major rail industry exhibition in Morocco to showcase a wide range of integrated railway solutions, the company said Tuesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company will participate in the two-day Rail Industry Summit Morocco to be held starting Tuesday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in the country's port city of El Jadida. This marks Hyundai Rotem's second consecutive year of participation in the event.
Hyundai Rotem's booth will highlight various technologies, including those involving rail signaling, hydrogen, and high-speed rail systems. The company will also exhibit its Balise Transmission Module (BTM), a device that receives data such as train position and speed limits.
Morocco, the only country in Africa operating a high-speed rail line, is advancing with an ambitious national rail strategy involving large-scale investments in high-speed, regional, and urban rail systems. Ahead of Morocco's planned hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the government is expanding transport infrastructure and accelerating long-term plans under the Plan Rail Morocco 2040 initiative, which aims to broaden high-speed rail lines and related infrastructure.
A Hyundai Rotem official stated, "Through this exhibition, we aim to further elevate the global standing of K-railway technology. We will seek diverse business opportunities to collaborate on the advancement of Morocco's railway industry."
