Hyundai Rotem Secures Agreement to Export K2 Tanks and Armored Vehicles to Peru.

Seoul: Hyundai Rotem Co. has announced a significant development in its international defense operations by signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Peru's Army Weapons and Ammunition Factory (FAME). This agreement is focused on exporting ground weapons, including the K2 battle tanks and wheeled armored vehicles, to the South American nation. According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement was finalized during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit held in Peru, which saw the participation of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte. This preliminary agreement sets the stage for a formal contract that will see Hyundai Rotem supply advanced military equipment to aid in the modernization of the Peruvian military forces. The K2 tanks and wheeled armored vehicles included in the agreement are designed for rapid troop deployment across various front-line areas, offering enhanced mobility and firepower. Hyundai Rotem officials have expressed their commitment to leve raging their technology and expertise as South Korea's sole battle tank manufacturer to support Peru's military advancements. Additionally, in May, Hyundai Rotem was selected as the preferred bidder for a separate contract involving the export of 30 K-808 White Tiger armored vehicles to Peru. This deal is expected to be finalized within the year and would mark South Korea's inaugural export of armored vehicles to the Latin American market.
