Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. on Thursday launched the latest version of its flagship Grandeur sedan in South Korea, featuring an infotainment platform powered by new artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Yonhap News Agency, the updated seventh-generation Grandeur is available with a 1.6-liter gasoline hybrid engine, a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, a 3.5-liter gasoline engine, or a 3.5-liter liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engine. The 2026 model is equipped with Hyundai's next-generation Pleos Connect infotainment system, which includes a 17-inch display and interactive functions enabled by Gleo AI, an agentic AI assistant developed by Hyundai Motor Group's software subsidiary, 42dot.
The Android-based automotive operating system supports wireless over-the-air updates for major vehicle functions. Additionally, the vehicle features a pedal misapplication safety assist system designed to help prevent accidents caused by drivers mistakenly pressing the accelerator instead of the brake.
The large sedan is priced between 41.8 million won and 48.6 million won (US$28,000-$32,628). Hyundai first introduced the Grandeur in the domestic market in 1986, and the sedan has long been regarded as one of the automaker's flagship models.
