Hyundai Motor Launches Fan Community in Japan to Boost Engagement

Fujinomiya: Hyundai Motor Co. announced that it has hosted a commemorative event to mark the launch of its fan community in Japan, aimed at bolstering its market presence and customer engagement in the country. The two-day event was conducted at a campsite near Fujinomiya, about 110 kilometers west of Tokyo, and included various programs tailored for Japanese customers and members of Hyundai Motor Club Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Japanese fan community is modeled after Hyundai Motor Club Korea, which was founded in 2015 by Hyundai vehicle owners and enthusiasts. The Korean club has since expanded to include over 122,000 members. Through the establishment of the Japanese club, Hyundai Motor aims to better understand local customer needs and broaden brand experience, enhancing its recognition in Japan following its reentry into the passenger car market in May 2022.

During the event, Toshiyuki Shimegi, head of Hyundai Mobility Japan, delivered a welcome speech, expressing that the Japanese fan community "will serve as a driving force for Hyundai's electric vehicle (EV) development in Japan." A company official added, "Support and constructive feedback from our loyal customers have been a key driver of Hyundai Motor's rise as a top-tier global automaker. We plan to continue expanding Hyundai's global fandom and promote our unique brand value wherever our customers are."
