Hyundai Mobis Partners with Global Leaders for Holographic Windshield Technology

Seoul: Hyundai Mobis Co., South Korea's largest auto parts maker, announced the formation of a global alliance with three renowned companies to develop a groundbreaking technology that transforms a vehicle's entire windshield into a head-up display.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the collaboration, termed the "Quad Alliance," includes Germany's Zeiss, a specialist in optical technologies; Germany's tesa, known for its adhesive solutions; and France's Saint-Gobain Sekurit, a leading automotive glass producer in Europe. Hyundai Mobis will spearhead the overall system design and integration of the holographic windshield display (HWD) system, leveraging its expertise in vehicle interface and display technologies.

The four companies plan to work together on the mass production of HWDs, an advanced display technology utilizing a vehicle's front windshield as a large screen. This system enables drivers to access crucial driving information without diverting their attention from the road.

The partnership aims to create a fully integrated supply chain encompassing the entire process, from optical design and holographic film replication to system assembly. Hyundai Mobis emphasized the importance of close collaboration with its global partners throughout the mass production phase to enhance technological competitiveness and establish a leadership position in innovative automotive technologies on a global scale.
