Seoul: K-pop powerhouse Hybe announced the establishment of a new label focused on producing girl groups, with plans to debut its first act in the latter half of the year. The newly formed label, ABD, stands for "A Bold Dream" and signifies an innovative approach aimed at reimagining traditional progressions, as stated in the company's announcement.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the label will be spearheaded by No Ji-won, who is currently the head of artist planning at Hybe subsidiary Pledis Entertainment. Production for the anticipated girl group will be overseen by Pledis' seasoned producer Han Sung-soo, known for his work with renowned artists such as Seventeen, After School, IZONE, and TWS.
This new venture is set to expand Hybe's existing lineup of girl groups, joining the ranks of Le Sserafim under Source Music, NewJeans under ADOR, ILLIT under Belift Lab, and Katseye under Hybe Labels.
