Honda to Withdraw from South Korean Automobile Market After 23 Years

Honda Korea, the South Korean sales unit of Japan's Honda Motor Co., announced its decision to withdraw from the country's automobile market, marking the end of its 23-year tenure in South Korea. The company plans to cease vehicle sales in the region by the close of 2026.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the announcement was made during a press conference held in Seoul. Honda Korea assured that it will continue to provide services to existing customers, ensuring continued support and maintenance of their vehicles. In addition to this, the company declared its intent to focus on strengthening its motorcycle business in South Korea. This will involve enhancing product competitiveness, improving customer service, and enriching brand experience for motorcycle enthusiasts in the country.
