Seoul: HD Hyundai Marine Solution on Monday reported its second-quarter net profit of 83 billion won (US$56.6 million), marking an impressive increase of 56.6 percent from the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the engineering service company revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the April to June period saw a year-on-year rise of 17.6 percent, reaching 97.6 billion won. The firm also reported a notable increase in sales, which climbed 24.1 percent to 580.4 billion won.

The reported earnings surpassed market expectations, as analysts had estimated an average net profit of 78 billion won. This estimate was derived from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency.
