Seoul: Hanwha Ocean Co. announced on Monday that it has secured a contract valued at 507 billion won (US$344 million) to construct three ammonia carriers for an undisclosed client based in Africa. This significant agreement marks a notable milestone for Hanwha Ocean, a prominent player in the shipbuilding industry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this latest order brings Hanwha Ocean's cumulative total to 10 ammonia carriers throughout its operational history. The company has also achieved substantial success in securing orders for a variety of other vessels. With the inclusion of this new contract, Hanwha Ocean's total order book now amounts to $3.2 billion. This impressive figure encompasses 18 vessels in total, comprising four LNG carriers and 10 very large oil tankers.
