Hanwha Aerospace Reports Significant Surge in Q2 Net Profit

Seoul: Hanwha Aerospace Co., South Korea's leading defense company, has announced a remarkable increase in its second-quarter net income, which reached 1.08 trillion won (US$751.7 million), marking a 277.5 percent rise from the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the April-June period was 1.36 trillion won, representing a 58.5 percent increase from the previous year. Sales also showed a substantial rise, increasing by 47.2 percent to 9.29 trillion won. This performance has significantly surpassed market expectations, with analysts' average estimate of net profit standing at 446.3 billion won, as per a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.

Hanwha Aerospace, known for manufacturing defense products such as the K9 Thunder Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPHs) and Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems (MRLSs), has demonstrated strong financial results, reflecting its robust position in the defense industry.
